What is Bowen Therapy?
Bowen is a form of bodywork that aims to impact the fascia of an animals body. Through various sequences of specifically placed, yet minimalistic moves, the fascia is manipulated to encourage lymphatic flow, blood flow, and overall release to specific and general areas of the body. This technique was created by Tom Bowen from Geelong and adapted by various schools over the past 40 years for both humans and animals. Bowen is a gentle and minimalistic bodywork therapy, meaning it is ideal for animals who can’t vocalise pain or discomfort during treatment in the same way humans can. While it is celebrated for its gentle, non-invasive application, it creates fundamental changes on a cellular level of the body, making it extremely effective in supporting aging bodies, rehabilitation and healing of injury, and modifying behavioural patterns.
